About Me

Front End Web Developer

My journey to coding was rather unconventional. As a classically trained saxophonist, I pursued music in college and graduate school. While working as a band director, I was given the opportunity to stay at home after the birth of our second son. It was during this time that I began to play around with the idea of coding. The more studied, I began to realize that this was how I wanted to spend my time. The correlations between using code to manipulate a website and the ability to interperate and write music to manipulate sound became clear. In a way I had already trained for this.

Recent Projects

Please note not all projects were built with responsiveness in mind. The learning was the main goal. For a future project, I will go back to practice responsive skills by optimizing the projects for both web and modile devices.

Snooz Cooks is a responsive recipe blog site with print capabilities. The site utilizes a mix of CSS Grid and Flexbox

HTML CSS JS Node.js API Integration

Forkify is a recipe collection website. It allows you to search by ingredients and will return a list of suggested recipes. The recipe view will show an ingredient list and adjust required amounts by serving size. You can then click a link to visit the recipe home page for instructions.

Mapty is a workout logging application. I displays your current area and gives you the ability to log either running or cycling workouts. The purpose of this project was to become familiar with using API's to enhance the user experience and utilize the local storage functionality of the browser.

Bankist is a web app that simulates a banking account interface. The functionality allows you to process withdrawals, deposits, loans, and account termination.
